Abstract:
Microfocus protein crystallography beamline TPS 07A is designed for significant but difficult projects involve small protein crystals (30 – 1 μm). Some specific applications with this design are the structural determinations of gigantic virus particles, large macromolecular assembly and complexes, membrane proteins, transition states of metalloproteins and enzymes, and drug design. The beamline has been successfully commissioned, and opened to users on November, 2021, without automatic sample changer and remote access. The measured beam properties matches the design value nicely, and the mechanism for changing beam size works as expected. Automatic sample changer as well as remote access will be provided at 2023, and automatic data collection and processing workflows for multi-crystal data collection strategy for microcrystals is under development now.
